Riding the Busan Metro
Haeundae, Seomyeon, Nampo-dong and Busan Station are all on the metro, which makes Busan easy to explore without a car. Lines 1–4 are run by Busan Transportation Corporation.
Lines
Line 1 (Dadaepo Beach–Nopo) serves Nampo-dong, Busan Station and Seomyeon; Line 2 (Jangsan–Yangsan) runs past Haeundae, Gwangan and Seomyeon. There are also Line 3 (Suyeong–Daejeo) and Line 4 (Minam–Anpyeong), the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail from Sasang via Gimhae Airport, and Korail's Donghae Line from Bujeon toward Ilgwang and Taehwagang (Ulsan).
- For Gimhae International Airport, get off at Airport station on the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail.
- The Yangsan metro line is reported to open in December 2026, using Busan fares.
Fares
Busan uses distance zones. Since the 2024 increase, a transit card costs ₩1,600 for zone 1 (up to 10 km) and ₩1,800 for zone 2 (over 10 km). Check the Busan Transportation Corporation site for any 2026 change.
Transit cards and passes
Nationwide cards such as T-money and Cashbee work as normal. Visitor transport passes in Busan change often as pilot schemes, so ask at the tourist information centers at Busan Station or Gimhae Airport which pass is on sale (a 'K-Tour Pass' pilot was reported in October 2026).
Tips and help
Use Line 2 for Haeundae and Gwangalli, and Line 1's Nampo or Toseong stations for Jagalchi and Gamcheon Culture Village. Busan Transportation Corporation's help line is 1544-5005.
